The inaugural Australasian Viral Hepatitis Elimination Conference 2017, taking place at the Pullman Cairns International, Cairns, Queensland, 10–11 August 2017, aims to gather those working in the field of Viral Hepatitis – as well as policy makers, researchers, primary health care providers, community and other individuals committed towards virtual hepatitis elimination. The program will present latest scientific developments and knowledge, and offer opportunities for structured dialogue assessing where we are, evaluating lessons learnt, in discussing our major issues towards charting the Australasian response to Viral Hepatitis. - 11

The National Centre for Infections in Cancer (NCIC) aims to improve patient outcomes through implementation of innovative health care pathways and a national surveillance program to reduce the incidence of infections in cancer. The inaugural NCIC symposium (August 24th, VCCC, Melbourne) will include a keynote presentation by leaders in the field of infection management in the hospital setting (TBA) and an address from the patient community perspective.
